Principal Engineer- Software / DSP

Summary:

Lead the conceptualization, design, and implementation/testing of technologies, tools, or processes. Ability to plan, define, and execute projects with no supervision.  They are recognized throughout the Division as an emerging expert.

Assist in authoring/inventing the next generation of audio DSP hardware and software. Leveraging technology trends and their own expertise, to disrupt both cost and user experience to lead the professional audio industry.

Responsibility:

Will help contextualize technical career opportunities for peers and junior talent as well as serve as a mentor to junior members of the team. Accomplish all aspects of projects to achieve commitments for delivery, performance, and financial requirements. Lead discussions with customers to ensure technical requirements are met and customer is satisfied. Participate in design reviews with customers and engineering peers after preparing documents/reports with cross functional teams. Develop and conduct test programs that support project initiatives. Confirm product meets customer and internal requirements, specifications, and cost targets. Conduct research and development for new technologies and products. Ensure that potential intellectual property is fully researched, documented, and protected.  

Required Experience/Skills:

Subject Matter Expert in Embedded Systems and/or Digital Signal Processing field. Innovator with exceptional reputation having created forward looking research, projects, and award winning publications. Worked in the Professional or Consumer Audio/Video industry, technology industry, or automotive industry. Experience with rapid prototyping tools for software/hardware, electronics, and mechanical design for consumer electronics and future device platforms. Persuasively and concisely communicate advanced/complex concepts and ideas to all levels of the business.  

Education:

PhD degree in Computer/Electrical Engineering related field with 4 years of experience in corporate or academic research or Master’s Degree in above mentioned fields with 8+ years of experience in R&D or Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years’ experience.

Notes:

Preferred Qualifications: Professional audio industry experience developing DSP software for various platforms and integrating with applications on Microsoft, Apple and Android products. Strong C, C++ or C# programming and debugging skills. Real-time embedded Linux experience preferred. Good understanding of the purpose and use of version control systems (i.e., Perforce, Atlassian).
