Sr. Engineer- DSP

Summary:

Deliver a large variety of technical support tasks using a mixture of advanced engineering principles and techniques. Operate as Subject Matter Experts (SME) in defined area of specialization with little guidance.

Responsibility:

Influence future generations of products for automotive, consumer, and professional use by leading the research on advanced technology. Confirm successful implementation by developing change plans for projects. Invent, develop, and document highest impact future use scenarios to identify and verify opportunities. Extend on existing design research by creating systems rapidly with a series of working prototypes. Drive breakthrough ideas and world-class research into product organizations. Work on the cutting edge of technology through the generation of patent-able ideas by contributing to the organization’s strong drive. Write and review invention disclosures at a high pace and with ease as main inventor / co-inventor to protect intellectual property. Collaborate with a heterogeneous group of end-to-end prototyping and research engineers (hardware & software), interaction and visual designers, software and hardware developers.

Required Experience/Skills:

Basic understanding of audio and professional audio systems. 3+ years of experience in embedded SW development and a BSEE or equivalent education Good understanding of version control systems (i.e. Perforce, Atlassian). Solid programming/debugging skills such as C, C++ or C# High expertise with DSP principles and the ability to apply them (FFT, Z-transform, bilinear transform, etc.). Experience in creating DSP software for various platforms and integrating with applications on Microsoft, Apple and Android products in the professional audio device industry. TCP/IP, UDP, etc. protocols experience.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Software Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience or Master’s Degree in same fields with 1+ years’ experience in R&D. History of high involvement in research, technology development with cutting edge innovation all throughout the academic curriculum via TAs, RAs, and internships. Past involvement working in the Professional or Consumer Audio/Video industry, technology industry, or automotive industry. Experience with the use of rapid prototyping tools for software and hardware, electronics, and mechanical design for consumer or professional electronics and future device platforms. Effectively communicate advanced/complex concepts and ideas to all levels of the business

Notes:
